APN stands for Access Point Name. It tells your device how to connect to the internet. Some Airalo eSIMs require you to manually update your APN settings in order to access data.
You can find the APN details for your eSIM in the Airalo app:
1. Go to My eSIMs
2. Select your eSIM
3. Choose How to use your eSIM > How to connect
4. Or select View Installation Instructions > Part 2/2
5. If the APN is not listed, it means your eSIM is configured automatically and no further action is required.
On iOS:
1. Open Settings
2. Select Cellular (or Mobile Data)
3. Choose your eSIM under Cellular Plans (or Mobile Data Plans)
4. Select Cellular Data Network (or Mobile Data Network)
5. Enter the APN exactly as shown in your eSIM installation details (all lowercase, no spaces)
Example: globaldata
6. Leave the other fields blank
On Android:
1. Open Settings
2. Select Network & Internet (this may also appear as Connections on some devices)
3. Choose Mobile Networks
4. Select Access Point Names
5. Enter the APN exactly as shown in your eSIM installation details (all lowercase, no spaces)
Example: globaldata
6. Leave the other fields blank
Once you update your APN, your device should connect to mobile data using your Airalo eSIM. If it does not connect immediately, restart your device to apply the new settings.
