How do I access the internet using an Airalo eSIM on a Google Pixel device?

If you encounter difficulties connecting your Airalo eSIM to the internet on a Google Pixel device after installation, please ensure that you have completed the Access Data steps for your eSIM.

You can find them in your Airalo account:

  1. OPEN the Airalo app
  2. TAP My eSIMs.
  3. Locate the eSIM you want to use.
  4. TAP View Details
  5. Locate Ready to use your eSIM > Connect to a network
  6. TAP How to connect

There, you'll find the exact steps you need to follow, but read on for a quick summary.

Before proceeding with the following steps, confirm that the eSIM line is ENABLED and selected for mobile data.

  1. GO to Settings.
  2. GO to Network & internet.
  3. TAP SIMs.
  4. ENSURE that the eSIM is enabled. If not, toggle it ON.
  5. TOGGLE ON Mobile data.

Note: Most eSIM validity periods start only when the eSIM connects to a mobile network in its coverage area. So installing early usually won’t cause you to lose days of your data plan. In some rare cases, validity may begin at installation, so it’s a good idea to check eSIM's validity policy by selecting Package details before or after purchase.

Update the APN settings (if necessary):

CHECK if you need to modify the APN on your device by opening the Airalo app and viewing your eSIM connection instructions.

  1. GO to Settings.
  2. GO to Network & internet.
  3. TAP SIMs.
  4. TAP your eSIM.
  5. TAP Access Point Names.
  6. TAP the + icon.
  7. ENTER the new APN in the APN field.
  8. TAP OK.
  9. ENTER Airalo as the APN's label in the Name field.
  10. LEAVE the other fields blank.
  11. TAP the three-dot menu in the upper right corner.
  12. TAP Save.
  13. ENSURE that the added APN is selected.

Enabling Data Roaming (if necessary):

CHECK if you need to enable Data Roaming on your device by opening the Airalo app and viewing your eSIM connection instructions.

  1. GO to Settings.
  2. GO to Network & internet.
  3. TAP SIMs.
  4. TAP your eSIM.
  5. TOGGLE Roaming ON or OFF.

Bonus Step: Connect to the Supported Network:

If your eSIM doesn't connect automatically:

  1. GO to Settings.
  2. GO to Network & internet.
  3. TAP SIMs.
  4. TAP your eSIM.
  5. DISABLE Automatically select network.
  6. SELECT the network specified in your eSIM’s Access Data information.
  7. Turn on airplane mode, restart your device, then turn it off again and try to connect.

After correctly following the instructions above, your Airalo eSIM should be successfully connected to the internet.

Understanding your eSIM status: Installed vs. In Use

You can track your setup progress directly in the Airalo app by going to My eSIMs, selecting your eSIM, and tapping View details. Depending on your setup stage, you may see one of these statuses:

  • Installed: The eSIM profile has been successfully downloaded and configured on your device.
  • In Use: The eSIM has successfully connected to a mobile network and initiated a data session.

Note: In most cases, you can see these status updates in the app. However, please note that status visibility may vary depending on your specific eSIM

If you do not see a status, do not worry — simply check if your eSIM appears in your device’s Settings. If it is there, head over to the "How to connect" section in the app / and follow the steps to get connected at your destination.
