This manual installation method is specific to the public Airalo, where each eSIM is installed individually. With the new Airalo, device setup happens directly in the app as the primary path - see the section below for what to do if you're using the new Airalo.
How do I know which version of the app I'm using?
- If the app asks you to set up your device once and add packages, you are using the new Airalo. Simply open the Packages tab (formerly "My eSIMs") to complete setup, and after that, whenever you buy a new package for your desired destination, it will be added to that same device automatically - no new eSIM needed.
- If the app shows individual eSIM installation instructions for each purchase and the My eSIMs tab instead of Packages, you are likely using the public Airalo.
If you're using the new Airalo
Since device setup happens directly in the app rather than by scanning a QR code, you shouldn't need to enter installation details manually.
If you're using the public Airalo
If you cannot scan the provided QR code, you can install the eSIM by entering the eSIM installation details manually if you have an Android device. For iOS devices, you can select the Direct method for installing the eSIM on the same device, or the manual method.
If you prefer, you can continue with installing the eSIM manually by following the steps below.
On iOS
- Go to My eSIMs > Your eSIM > Install & Share > Share and More to find your manual installation details in the app or on the website.
