If you cannot connect your Airalo eSIM to the internet after installation, make sure you've followed the Connection instructions in the Airalo app.
Where can I find connection instructions in the Airalo app?
If you're using the public Airalo:
- Navigate to My eSIMs → Your eSIM → View details → Ready to use your eSIM → Connect to a network → How to connect.
Or, if you're using the new Airalo:
- Go to Packages → Tap your package → Get connected.
How do I know if I'm using the new Airalo or the public Airalo?
- If the app asks you to set up your device once and buy packages, you are using the new Airalo. Simply open the Packages tab (formerly "My eSIMs") to complete setup, and after that, whenever you buy a new package for your desired destination, it will be added to that same device automatically—no new setup needed.
- If the app shows individual eSIM installation instructions for each purchase and the My eSIMs tab instead of Packages, you are likely using the public Airalo.
Check your setup and package status (new Airalo)
With the new Airalo, your device needs a one-time setup before any package can work, and each package activates only in its covered destination.
Before troubleshooting device settings, check the following:
- Check your setup status: Open the Packages tab. If your package shows "Set up needed," your device hasn't been set up yet. Connect to Wi-Fi and tap Set up device to complete the one-time setup.
- Check your package status: Open Packages and select your destination to see whether the package is ready to use, active, expired, or out of data.
- Confirm you're in the destination: Packages only activate once your device connects to a supported network in the covered destination.
- Confirm you're on the right device: Packages remain tied to the device they were added to and can't be used on another device.
Reminder: Your Airalo line should be ON, selected for mobile/cellular data, and have data roaming ON where required. If the setup and package status look correct and you still can't connect, continue with the steps below.
