- Select View Details
- Open the installation instructions. Depending on your app version, you may see:
- View Installation Instructions, or
- How to use your eSIM > How to install the eSIM - Select Direct, then tap Install eSIM
How to install an eSIM directly on iOS
- Select Next to follow the step-by-step guide
- Select Continue twice
- Wait a few minutes for your eSIM to activate
- Select Done
- Choose a label for your eSIM (e.g., “Airalo”)
- On the Default Line pages:
- Select your Primary line for calls and SMS
- Select your Primary line for iMessage & FaceTime
- Select your Airalo eSIM for Cellular/Mobile Data - Make sure Allow Cellular Data Switching is turned OFF
*If your eSIM supports calls and texts besides data, you may select it for calls and SMS.
After completing these steps, you’ll see a confirmation that your eSIM is successfully installed.
How to connect to mobile data
- Open Settings > Cellular (or Settings > Mobile Data)
- Select your eSIM plan
- Enable Turn On This Line if it’s not enabled
- Check if Data Roaming needs to be enabled (see your Airalo app instructions under How to use your eSIM > How to connect, or View Installation Instructions > Part 2/2)
- Toggle Data Roaming ON or OFF as needed - Go back to Cellular/Mobile Data and select your Airalo eSIM as the data line
Your eSIM should automatically connect to a supported mobile network.
