How to check if your Android device supports eSIM

Before installing, make sure that your device:

• Your device needs to be eSIM compatible and network unlocked. (see "What devices support eSIM?" + "How do I check if my Android device supports eSIM?")
• You have a stable connection, preferably WiFi. (You need to download the eSIM properly to your device and a stable internet connection is a must.)

How to prepare before installing an eSIM?

1. Log in to your Airalo account
2. Go to My eSIMs
3. Select the eSIM you want to install
4. Open the installation instructions. Depending on your app version, you may see:
   • View Installation Instructions, or
   • How to use your eSIM > How to install the eSIM
5. Choose your preferred installation method: Direct, QR Code, or Manual

For connection settings, open the same eSIM and look under How to use your eSIM > How to connect (or View Installation Instructions > Part 2/2).

How to install an eSIM directly on an Android device?

Some Android models support Direct installation from the Airalo app. If available,select Direct > Install eSIM and follow the on-screen steps.

How to install an eSIM via QR code on an Android device?

1. In the Airalo app, choose the QR Code option (you can share it to another device or print it)
2. Open Settings on your device
3. Select Network & Internet
4. Select + Add Mobile Network (or Add eSIM)
5. When prompted with “Don’t have a SIM card?”,select Next
6. Scan your QR code and enter the confirmation code if prompted
7. Go back to Mobile Network and turn on your eSIM
8. Enable Mobile data
9. Enable Data roaming (turn off your primary line to avoid roaming charges when abroad)
10. If required, set up your APN (Access Point Name) using the details from your Airalo app

How to install an eSIM manually on an Android device?

1. In the Airalo app, choose the Manual option
2. Copy the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code (and Confirmation Code if available)
3. Open Settings on your device
4. Select Network & Internet
5. Select + Add Mobile Network (or Add eSIM)
6. When prompted with “Don’t have a SIM card?”,select Next
7. Select Enter code manually and enter the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code from your Airalo app
8. Go back to Mobile Network and turn on your eSIM
9. Enable Mobile data
10. Enable Data roaming (turn off your primary line to avoid roaming charges when abroad)
11. If required, set up your APN (Access Point Name) using the details from your Airalo app

Once your eSIM is installed via Direct, QR Code, or Manual, you can finish setup more easily byselectping the Settings shortcuts in your Airalo app under Access data steps.

What happens after installation?

Once installed and selected for data, your eSIM should automatically connect to a supported mobile network.
