The way you add data depends on which version of the Airalo app you're using.

How do I know if I'm using the new Airalo or the public Airalo?
- If the app asks you to set up your device once and add packages, you're using the new Airalo. Simply open the Packages tab (formerly My eSIMs) to complete the setup. After that, whenever you add a new package for your desired destination, it will be added to that same device automatically—no new eSIM is needed.
- If the app shows individual eSIM installation instructions for each purchase and has a My eSIMs tab instead of Packages, you're likely using the public Airalo.
If you're using the new Airalo
With the new Airalo, you can add packages for any destination to the same device.
- Log in to your Airalo account.
- Go to the Store (or tap Top up on your active package under Packages).
- Select your destination and choose a package.
- Complete your purchase.
The new package is added automatically to the device you're using.
Note: If you have multiple packages active at once, they're used in this order: Local → Regional → Global. Within the same type, the package you bought first is used first.
If you're using the public Airalo
Only some eSIMs can be topped up. You can check whether an eSIM can be topped up under the Package details tab before purchasing it.
After your purchase, the Top up option can be found under the My eSIMs tab.
- Log in to your Airalo account.
- Go to My eSIMs.
- Tap Top up on the eSIM you want to add a new package to.
- Select the top-up package you want.
If there is no Top up button or the button doesn't work, it means the eSIM doesn't offer top ups or there has been a network carrier change for the eSIM. In this case, please purchase a new eSIM.
If the top-up or new package doesn't activate automatically, try the following steps:
- Restart your phone after adding the new package.
- Turn airplane mode on and off to restore your connection.
Airalo also offers unlimited packages. This option is ideal if you don't want to worry about your data usage or topping up. Simply select how many days you'll need data for, and get unlimited data for that duration. You can do this using the +/- toggle or by selecting a preset number of days.
Note that full speed is up to 3 GB/day; then speeds slow, and it resets every 24 hours.
